Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has announced that a demo for their
 upcoming DC fighting game will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace
 and PlayStation Store tomorrow. Players will be able to test their might
 with Batman, Wonder Woman.Telltale's The Walking Dead to get European retail release next month  Videogamer.com  The retail release, which launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on May  10, includes all five episodes of Telltale's horror adventure game on a  single disc, complete with subtitles for French, Italian, German and  Spanish-speaking audiences. Battlefield 4 Will Release On Oct. 29: Xbox 360, PS3, PC, And Next Gens?  iTech Post  Battlefield 4 (BF4) is an upcoming first-person shooter video game  developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and published by Electronic  Arts. EA announced BF4 in July 2012 but did not confirm a release date.

The Xbox 360 infamously suffered from quality control problems. A study from SquareTrade indicated that within the first two years of ownership, 23.7% of Xbox 360s suffered system failures vs. 10% for PS3 owners and 2.7% of Wii owners.  The infamous "red rings of death", and even after repair, it would get so hot during gameplay that I could make steak and eggs on it. And of course, it didn't help that it was so loud that I needed 500 watts' worth of surround sound to hear what I was playing. But to its credit, Microsoft's customer service team was very responsive and helpful, and they eventually worked out the kinks.
Now, if Sony is going gangbusters to get to market this holiday season, there is a chance they'll suffer from quality-control problems, which will be very costly. Console gaming is a razor & blades business. The consoles sell at a loss to generate high-profitable royalties on individual game sales. If the PS4 suffers from a high repair or return rate, the losses are going to pile up.
Cycle-over-cycle, Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo console unit sales are up 25%, which frankly, isn't very impressive when the smartphone and tablet markets grew by 36% and 75% in Q4 of 2012, according to IDC As I stated above, the PS3 launched at a premium price relative to the Xbox 360 and Wii. The lower-priced PS3 was $499 at launch, while the most expensive Xbox 360 package was $399 and the Wii was just $249 including a game. Now, look at what's happened with recent video-game hardware. The Nintendo 3DS and Wii U have bombed, as has Sony's own PS Vita handheld. Assuming Sony wants to move some units in this tired market, will it have to take a lower price, driving larger-than-expected losses on PS4 console sales? And bringing back to the smartphone/tablet issue, will mass-market consumers (as in the casual audience) be willing to shell out another $400-500 for a gaming device after they've spent money on smartphones and tablets, whose technological sophistication is growing at a rapid rate.

While the entire gaming media is eagerly anticipating a predicted announcement about a forthcoming PS4 at tomorrow's PlayStation Meeting 2013, Sony (NYSE:SNE) has already dropped some pretty big news concerning its handheld console the PlayStation Vita. Yesterday, Sony announced that on February 28 the price of the Vita will drop to 19,980 yen in Japan from its current price of 24,980 yen. Sony has yet to confirm whether a similar price drop will occur in America, but if it does, the handheld will likely go for $200, down from its current price of $250.The price cut is intentioned to boost the sales of the Vita, which have been sluggish since the Vita's launch last year. Sony is following the example of its rival company Nintendo (PINK:NTDOY), whose 3DS system performed poorly after its release, but later became one of its most profitable products after a substantial price cut.

According to a report from IGN yesterday, a few former AMD executives allegedly took major documents regarding the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 with them as they left the company and joined up with rival Nvidia.
AMD's lawsuit against the four former employees alleges they "absconded with thousands of confidential documents, including sensitive information about technologies at use in next-gen consoles."
 Sources have revealed that the PlayStation 4 will feature a custom silicon based on AMD's A8-series APU and HD 7670 GPU, while the Xbox 720 will combine an IBM PowerPC CPU and a custom version of AMD's 6670 GPU.
 One of the targets in the lawsuit is former VP of AMD's Strategic Division, Robert Feldstein, who helped develop custom hardware for current generation gaming systems.
AMD has been saying that he and some other people transferred around 100,000 files, which contain trade secrets concerning development.
All of that is based on "forensically-recovered data," which suggests the executive used external storage devices on his computer prior to leaving the company.
