Fire approximately nine three-second bursts of napalm.
Have a range of about 44 feet.
Deal out damage over time. Meaning that if you get flamed, your health will go down gradually as you stay on fire (no word if anything can put it out)
Torch bubble shields. You’ll be OK if you stay inside (will walking through it set you on fire?)
Be able to set vehicles on fire
Be a turret-based weapon, meaning you'll move to a third-person view when you use it.
It will be a new grenade type known as the firebomb, and will compliment the flamethrower by using a similar type of liquid fire which will light the ground around where it is deployed ablaze. Players can use this feature to their advantage by creating small walls of flames that can block incoming enemies from walking through without taking damage.

A library in Mount Prospect, Illinois launched a Halo 2 event to attract more children, but controversy has followed in the wake of the decision.

Three new maps were revealed during IGN's visit: Epitaph, Shrine and Last Resort. Epitaph, a gothic Forerunner structure in the shape of a temple, is designed for close-quarters combat, shoving Spartans into thin, dimly-lit corridors. Two man-cannons on opposite ends of the cathedral propel players across the map toward an energy sword hovering on a gravity lift in the arena's center.
Last Resort is a re-imagining of the Halo 2 standby Zanzibar. Additions include a second fortress entrance for vehicles that is blocked by a cement wall which can be unlocked with its own control panel inside the structure. The walkways extending in the air have become more complex and are lined with broken guardrails.
Finally, Shrine is a barren desert peppered with aging Forerunner structures. The largest map to date, Shrine is the length of Valhalla, but four times its width. A variety of special effects (heatwaves, sand dust and shadows) make the visual upgrades from the previous game significantly more noticeable.
A new vehicle with Brute roots rolled onto the scene. The Brute Chopper is part Harley and another part Forerunner hovercraft, boosting across maps with a battering ram for a front wheel. Other arsenal capabilities include twin-mounted cannons that shoot ammunition resembling the Brute Spiker guns.
A new piece of equipment called the Jammer disrupts everyone's radar upon deployment. Red dots of activity will sporadically appear and leave lingering effects for those in its vicinity when it detonates.

BRUTE CHIEFTAIN — The highest rank in the Brute hierarchy is the Chieftain, whose articulated figure is the tallest of the series at 6 inches. Belonging to the Covenant, the Brute Chieftain carries the gravity hammer, a close-range weapon with the ability to alter gravity at a local level and crush his enemies and surroundings.
CORTANA — Developed by the United Nations Space Command (UNSC), Cortana is a smart A.I. with the ability to project herself as a holographic image and be transferred between computer systems, including the cybernetic armor of Master Chief. This figure’s base features an LED light that illuminates her 4.5 inch-tall figure.
JACKAL SNIPER — To the benefit of the Covenant, Jackal Snipers have incredibly sharp reflexes and deadly aim. Standing at 5 inches, the Jackal Sniper is equipped with its signature beam rifle, which has the ability for long range shooting and a high degree of damage.
GRUNT 2-Pack — At 3.5 inches tall, the Grunt is a menace to the human race, and represents the vast majority of the Covenant infantry. The Grunts are the lowest tier of the Covenant hierarchy, and move in packs. They are expected to unquestioningly obey the commands of their Brute commanders. Outfitted with weapons including the Plasma Pistol and Needler, the Grunts may not seem much more than cannon fodder, but in groups, they can be deadly.
WARTHOG — As the most widely recognized vehicle of the UNSC, the Warthog is a ground vehicle capable of carrying up to three soldiers. Known as the best all-around vehicle for its power, adaptability and toughness, the Warthog measures 3 inches in length and is built of die-cast metal and plastic.
GHOST — The Ghost is a single-seat, anti-gravity vehicle used by the Covenant. Mounted with twin plasma cannons, the Ghost is a rapid-attack vehicle designed for speed and maneuverability. The Ghost is 3 inches long and made with die-cast metal and plastic.

Microsoft pledged at E3 last year that it would double the Xbox Live subscribers base from three million to six by the end of June 2007, a target which it has reached four months ahead of schedule.

LucasArts has revealed its first true jump into next-generation gaming with the Star Wars franchise with their latest game Star Wars: Force Unleashed for the Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3.
The game will also be developed for the PS2, PSP, and Nintendo DS though they will be developed by a different developer than the next-generation iterations of the sure to be blockbuster game.
Star Wars: Force Unleashed will be set between Episode III and Episode IV and leave you as the dark apprentice of Darth Vader. You will be taking over all of the tasks which he gives to you to try and eradicate whatever is left of the jedi.
You will take on a “secret mission to dive head-first into the forbidden Dark Side of the force, take out the emperor and rule the galaxy as master and apprentice.”

Halo 3 Multiplayer UI updates and revealed a very handy new button, the A-Hole Button. As they say: “Teenagers, plus anonymity, plus microphone = idiot”.
Some of those who don’t like Halo’s Xbox Live Multiplayer gaming complain about the trash talk done by all the kiddies playing the game and screaming or turning on music through their headsets. With this new A-Hole Button Bungie clearly states they’re getting sick of it too and found a very good way to help you survive your Xbox Live matches with Halo 3. The A-Hole Button offers a shortcut to mute anyone instantly. “These kind of vocal buttmunches, as it turns out, are exactly as fun to play against as normal people, as long as you can’t hear them.”
Any muted player you have selected in your Xbox Live account overrides Halo 3’s new system, but that should actually enhance the choice of maroons you’re editing out of your gameplay. Best of all, it means fewer wasted or frustrating gameplay sessions. We’re doing our best to come up with lots of smart solutions for stuff like this, but honestly, we can’t be parents to some of these poltroons. We’re much more concerned with giving you guys the tools you need to silence them.
Let’s hope other developers take a good look at this option and consider to implant it in other popular Multiplayer titles, since it might improve behavior on Xbox Live a lot. This might also be the solution to all the annoying gadgets that have been springing up recently. In the UNSC’s limited encounters with the spike grenade, we have learned much of its tactical applications both through contact with the Brutes and field tests of our own using discarded equipment. The quills of the spike grenade seem to be able to grip almost any surface upon which it’s been tested. This includes rock, glass and even some Covenant shield systems, unlike the plasma grenades which we have encountered before. The other feature unique to this grenade is its directional blast. Our researchers have discovered that the directional blast of the grenade is not designed to come out of one end or the other, but instead is relative to the surface against which it rests. If thrown against a perfectly flat wall, the grenade’s blast will disperse perpendicular to the wall.
Bungie also states that the grenades will be particularly effective on Snowbound, as the spike grenades stick to the shield doors on the map. Halo 3 rumor will be released in North America on November 15. The website claims to have been given this information by an anonymous exec in Microsoft's Xbox group.
The website also reports that Halo 3 will be released in three editions: Legendary Edition will cost $99.99 and will include "three bonus discs of extra content and a collectible replica of a Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI helmet", Limited Edition will cost $69.99 and will include "special bonus content especially for the Halo enthusiast" and Regular Version at the usual $59.99.
With the info coming from an anonymous source, the launch date is still very much a rumour. Whilst a winter release would seem likely, late last year there were some murmurings that the game would be released much sooner than people were expecting - perhaps in the summer.

The MA5C Halo 3

"The MA5C is built like a brick outhouse with Venetian blinds. You can pound on a mike foxtrot with it like it was a sledgehammer," said one happy soldier, whilst another insisted that he trusts the weapon like he trusts his own arms.
One of the guns you'll be doing the killing with in Halo 3 is the MA5C assault rifle, according to the Bungie website, marking the return of the weapon-type after its exclusion from Halo 2.
The MA5C's power will be somewhere between the original game's MA5B assault rifle and the BR55 Battle Rifle from Halo 2. You can also use the heavy butt of the gun as a strong melee attack, but it has no alternate fire option.
To get into more specifics, the MA5C has a few improvements of the MA5B including “a heavier barrel with a 1 in 7 twist; a redesigned cowling to house the electronics suite that reduces weight and increase pointability of weapon; and a redesigned handguard which is sturdier and provides a more positive grip.” But for us gamers, that’s all cosmetic.
As far as the MA5C’s performance is concerned, the first thing you might notice is the 32 round magazine clip. The new rifle is a cross between the assault rifle and the battle rifle. This ups the overall power and accuracy of the weapon over the MA5B to counterbalance the smaller clip size. The most effective use of the weapon is short and controlled bursts to take down the target.

There's not all that much to say about Halo 2 for Vista, as the game does not include any major revamps from its two-year-old predecessor, but playing the game on PC does provide a new experience. I had the chance to get some hands on time with the game this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. On tap was Sanctuary, the largely symmetrical map set in temple ruins, added to the Xbox version of Halo 2 in a post-release map pack.

Halo 3 buzz again after a video showing some footage appeared on Xbox Marketplace. Personally I am VERY excited about this game as both Halo 1 and 2 are easily the best console FPS games ever made. I know people say the story is a little weak but really it's pretty decent for the type of game it is. It's very summer blockbuster, which makes perfect sense and works well. Yes Halo 2's single player game wasn't as good as the first game but then they'd set themselves quite the challenge to beat it. Halo 3 is going to kick ass and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.
